Thankful

We are back from our family vacation to the big "Omaha". We traveled back to visit with family and friends. Aiden was able to meet his huge family and meet a couple of his "ladies". So I thought I'd copy my pal Liz and list the events of the tirp I was thankful for...

-Aiden's patience in the car. This was his first long car ride and he did great. Technology is a wonderful thing and Elmo's World on DVD saved us from a screaming child a time or two.

-Grandma's love for buying Aiden gifts. Elmo decided to jump ship at one of the rest stops on the way to Nebraska so Grandma Carter saved the day and found another Elmo for Aiden while we were in town.

-Mother Nature's pity on me. With all the storms surrounding us, we were VERY lucky not to get stuck in any extreme crappy weather. Eric was a trooper and got us through the snow between Cheyenne and SLC on the way home but all in all it was ok.

-Spending time with family. It was so special to have all of my Aunt's and Uncle's there to meet Aiden. We were able to spend some quality time with my Mom's family and my Dad's family. It was truly special to watch each of them interact with him. He's so lucky to have so much love surround him.

- Spending time with friends. Although we were unable to see everyone we wanted to see we were fortunate enough to spend time with Amber and Lily at the Zoo. I think the parents were more excited than the kids but it was fun to catch up.

- Hanging with my pal Leigh and her family. We were able to meet Tessa and spend time with Leigh's parents. It was nice to catch up and watch the kids play together.

- Hotels with Suites! We stayed at a nice hotel with big rooms. This was nice with a little munchkin who wanted to crawl around :)

All in all we had a great trip! It was nice to getaway. We all needed some time away to remind us of how lucky we are to have each other. We miss everyone already!!
