Well two weeks from today I will be sitting in my cubicle at work. Wondering how Aiden is doing and wishing I was home with him to hear his squeals. These last 10 weeks have flown by and I'm very emotional about heading back to the office. I've enjoyed my time at home and I feel so close to my lil guy right now. It's hard to believe that someone else will be answering those lil squeaks in a couple of weeks.
Over the last 10 weeks I've spent a lot of time with some new friends I've made through a Mom's meetup group. They've been so supportive and it's been interesting listening to their advice about returning to work. Many of them are stay at home mom's or they work from home full time. I've discovered it's a "grass is greener on the other side" mentality. Many of them love being home but some days wish they had an office to go to. I'm trying to convince myself that this is the best move for Eric and I, deep down I know it is, but it hurts a lot to think of Aiden at the sitter everyday.
Thankfully Aiden's Great Aunt Lori :) (or as she likes to call herself "Excellent Aunt Lori") will be arriving Aug 8 to watch Aiden during my first week back. I think this will make the transition easier knowing he's with family the first week.
I know there are many women that read my blog that have been in these shoes before and have come out ok and their kids are wonderful so I think there's hope for us :) Until then I'll enjoy everyday for the next two weeks.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!!

Michele

Photo Albums
I wanted to let everyone know that I am changing the permissions on Aiden's photo albums located on Flickr. Right now they are set to public so everyone can enjoy them without having to sign up for a flickr account. However, I've noticed that complete strangers are leaving comments about him on some of the pics. So I'd rather be safe and not allow everyone to view them.
So...I'll continue to post pics on the blog but if you want to enjoy all of our pictures you'll have to sign up for a flickr account. It's really easy and if you have any trouble let me know and I'll help you.

Swiiing Batter Batter Swing
Since Boston is playing the Yanks this weekend and Aiden's Red Sox gear is a little too big still, we thought this outfit would do the trick!

D.N.G.
Well Eric and I decided to put the house and boat up for sale. We very excited about our decision! I still can't believe Eric put the boat up but I'm also really relieved. I think for our family right now it's the best decision. I'm kicking myself for selling our old boat, BUT like I told Eric if we hadn't, we might not have Aiden right now :)
Anywhoo...for those of you who have ever been to my house OR who have stayed with us for a period of time you have no doubt been priviliged to either hear or meet Bob our D.N.G. (Drunk Neighbor Guy). The guy has a big heart but somtimes it's clouded by the glasses of whiskey that are consumed throughout the day. He's no doubt been a character since we've moved in and yesterday was no exception.
He made it known the other day that he did NOT want us to move. Which was flattering but also scared us because we didn't want any potential buyers running for the hills. Well last night we almost lost our real estate agents because of his wacky ways!
We have two agents Lily and Norm. Well Lily is petrified of dogs, even my sparky scares her. Well last night as she was leaving DNG's dogs Barney and Whiskey (yes his name is Whiskey, I'm not making it up) decided to run across the street and pay Lily a visit. Needless to say she was scared to death and DNG wouldn't call the dogs back. So Norm and DNG had a few words. So here Eric and I are trying to ease the mind of our new realtor while trying to keep the DNG at bay. All the while thinking "we're never going to get this placed sold with him". So I had to screen calls from the DNG last night apologizing and giving us names and numbers of new agents that he recommends. SO FRUSTRATING!!
So if any of you have words of wisdom about how to handle DNG let us know! Or if you have your own DNG story do share! We could all use a laugh :)
Love and Hugs,
Michele
